Ultimately, that is up to you.

You’ve read some facts and heard some opinions, but the issue doesn’t stop there. We are the cause of these issues, but we are also the ones who can fight against them. Making the shift to renewable sources, being conscious of our energy usage, altering our diets and our transportation methods, and being informed voters are actions we can all work to take. However, I understand that as easy as it can be to make these changes, it’s just as easy not to.

Being a writer and designer has taught me so much about the importance of listening. For this project, it was necessary to consider all perspectives because the story of climate change, like so many other stories, is not about any one person. Acknowledging all of the different facts and listening to a variety of opinions has helped me to learn and grow as a person, and this is a strategy that I will take with me in my future endeavors.

So, because of my openness to listening, I understand the different stances on the issue of climate change. I understand the fear of wildlife and habitat loss, the fear of damage and destruction, and the fear for the future. I also understand the fear for industries and the economy, the fear of insecurities, and the fear of change. These fears are all valid, but so is reality. The planet may be fine in our lifetime, but there are many lifetimes to come after our ends.
